The full title of the film is Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom. I saw this in the cinema almost 30 years ago. Ive havent read the Marquis de Sade but the film is set in WW2 Italy (Salo is a town in North Italy where Mussolini and his the facsists fled to) so the adaptation must be pretty loose...

I've never read the book, but, I've seen the movie when it came out on netflix almost 10 years ago. The english/american version is called "Solo". It was interesting to say the least, I was not prepared for what I saw but, I can say it is not for the faint of heart/weak stomachs. In the end, worth a watch.

I have read the book and although I have never seen the full film I have seen enough clips to know it's reasonably faithful although in a modern setting. The book is worth a read btw ... not too taxing and quite unique !

This film is actully a masterpiece. Sure beats the Hell outa that Siberin Film or what ever it was called. My m8 said it was nasty so I watched it.... That film sucked... This film rocks.
